4 Season Tents

I am a keen camper and hiker, and I like to have good equipment when I’m setting off into the countryside. Living in the UK means putting up with unpredictable weather, and it seems to be worsening. Warm sunny days can be swiftly followed by gray skies and pouring rain. I always like to have one or two 4 season tents ready in my loft. They are more expensive than normal tents, but they are well worth it.

If you just want a tent for occasional use or for the kids to mess about in, in the garden, then 4 season tents are not for you. You may just camp in summertime, so they are not really appropriate. I like to camp all the year round, if possible. That means, I want a waterproof tent that won’t let me down. There’s nothing worse than water getting into your tent and finding you’ve no dry clothes to change into. 4 season tents will stand up to strong gales when you’re perched on the side of a mountain.

The problem I have with carrying a lot of gear on my back, is my size. I’m quite small and I can’t cope with a heavy backpack. That influences my decision when I’m buying 4 season tents, because they have to be of reasonable weight as well as high quality. Tent manufacturers are working all the time to improve the materials of all weather tents and try to make them as lightweight as possible. It’s no good however, making them light and compromising on quality. When choosing 4 season tents, it’s best to stick to known brand names that you can trust. I’m always suspicious of a tent that seems like a bargain too good to be true. There’s a reason that it’s so cheap.

My family and I love to go camping in all the seasons. I particularly like going in the Fall, or Autumn as we call it here. There’s a crispness in the air when you get up in the morning, and the leaves are turning into lovely shades of brown, yellow and red. Winter can be fun too, in 4 season tents, when there is a frost on the ground or even snow. A blanket of snow on a tent is the best heating system around. It insulates the heat inside a tent and it’s really very cozy. There’s no need to stay indoors when it’s not Summer. 4 season tents give you a ticket to travel at any time.

Beach Tents

Going to the beach is one of the most popular summer family vacations, and for good reason.  Everyone in the family has something to do at the beach.  Young children can play in the sand with reckless abandon, older kids can swim and play in the water, while Mom and Dad relax in the sun, read a book, and maybe get a tan.  Beach barbeques and campfires are also favorites as the day wears on, and depending on the facilities families can sail, kayak, or play volleyball all day.

Though the ideal day at the beach is sunny and clear, rainstorms aren’t the only things that can ruin a day at the beach.  Too much wind, sun, or sand can also put a damper on the day, especially if there is no convenient shade or shelter.  That’s why beach tents have become popular with beachgoers, especially families with young kids.  Beach tents are lighter weight and easier to set up than standard backpacking tents, and they’re easy to toss in your beach tote on your way from the car.  They assemble quickly; some designs are even self-erecting, so you can toss the tent onto the sand and it’ll set up itself.

Beach tents offer some respite from the sun for those with sensitive skin, and they’re a boon to young families with infants.  With a beach tent, infants and toddlers can stay in the shade without being restricted to a child carrier or stuck under and umbrella; they’re free to play in the tent while the rest of the family enjoys the sun.  Beach tents are also handy for those needing a place to change into bathing suits while at the beach, allowing them to avoid awkward changing sessions in the car or trying to find a convenient restroom or changing room somewhere along the sand.  For those wanting to catch a nap, these tents provide a handy place to get away from the noise and sun usually associated with beach trips.  Lunch is no longer a sandy mess either, since families can get out of the wind much more easily.Beach tents come in all shapes and sizes, from full-sided family affairs to simple half-shells which protect from the wind and sun but offer an unrestricted view of the water.  Other designs have no walls, providing a roof to keep the sun off but nothing more.  On a bright, warm day these can be great, but they don’t offer as much protection from wind or prying eyes.  Whatever your choice, a well-designed beach tent can transform your next vacation from ho-hum to a great day at the beach.

Backpacking Tents

Are you a big outdoorsman? Or actually I should say outdoor person. Maybe that fresh mountain air and warm son get your heart pumping and juices flowing. If this sounds all too familiar, then you’re certainly not alone. Many of us yearn for that bout with the wilderness. In fact, some of us actually go to the lengths to purchasing all the fancy equipment. If you are a nature nut, this can be a rather wise investment. Have you checked into the latest hiking supplies, camping gear and backpacking tents? These days there is a plethora to choose from. Furthermore, you definitely don’t have to sacrifice quality when searching for that great low price.

The other day I was in the market for some well made hiking supplies and backpacking tents. You see, I was shopping for my entire family. My three siblings are all into the outdoors as well. Between the four of us we probably have enough hiking boots, camping equipment, canteens, and backpacking tents for a small army. Regardless, we are always on the lookout for the next best thing. I blame technology. They are always coming out with sturdier and more lightweight products. Right now I am stuck on my compact one-man tent. This baby is the epitome of backpacking tents. I can literally tote it along without taking up hardly any space. It basically stretches out on the ground and only fits one sleeping bag. It’s perfect for a camping and hiking nut like myself. One thing you want to be sure of is to acquire a quality tent that can withstand the elements of nature. Strong rain and wind should not tear your tent down. Now days they’re made resilient and strong.

If you are in the market for some wonderful and long-lasting camping supplies, hiking equipment and/or backpacking tents, then maybe it’s time you took a trip down the Internet super highway. Cyberspace is loaded with infinite backpacking tents and outdoor supplies. Sort through a number of reviews in order to pinpoint the exact products you’re shopping for. Get that first-hand opinion before buying. That’s what the Internet is for. You’ll find a deluge of camping equipment and backpacking tents to suit any and all needs. Be prepared before you tackle the outdoors. While Mother Nature can be a beautiful experience, she can also test your will power and endurance. It’s prudent to go with the right equipment.
